<image:title>Dimentberg - As Chief of Surgery Dr Dimentberg oversees a Department of 120 surgeons. Under his leadership he has helped grow St Mary’s Hospital into the largest total hip and knee replacement center in Quebec. Dr. Dimentberg completed his medical school and Orthopaedic Surgery training at McGill University. He then went on to pursue subspeciality training in knee surgery in Chicago. As an Associate Professor of Surgery at McGill University, Dr Dimentberg maintains a large surgical practice and is actively involved in teaching orthopaedic residents, medical students and subspeciality fellows. He has performed well over 5000 arthroscopic and reconstructive knee procedures. For the past 14 years has chaired the St Mary’s -McGill Annual Arthroscopic Surgery Course, a highlight of McGill’s residents academic year. He initiated and developed fellowship programs in Sports Medicine and Total Joint Replacement and via these programs himself and his team has trained surgeons from North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East. Being interested in surgical innovation, he published one of the first major articles on video guided surgical rehabilitation and more recently, using current technology, helped bring this concept to St Mary’s as Canada’s first My Mobility program, allowing patients to receive rehabilitation guidance via their smartwatch. In 2022 Dr Dimentberg started McGill’s first robotic assisted knee replacement program, and became involved in research on this evolving technology. He’s been awarded the Hingston award for medical leadership and in 2018 the prestigious A Joshi award for medical innovation. Throughout, his focus remains on providing excellent patient care.</image:title>
